Spitzer’s demogogic speech on justice reform

From Steven Greenhut:
My column on Sunday deals with Assemblyman Todd Spitzer’s Sept. 5 diatribe on the Assembly floor concerning a package of three modest bills — now on the governor’s desk — designed to assure that people are not wrongfully convicted of crimes. Spitzer is the GOP Assembly’s point man on “public safety,” and he uses that position to engage in demogoguery. Spitzer, a close ally of the unions, is fond of depicting reasonable reforms as anti-cop and his opponents as pro-criminal.

[…] Greenhut kicks the crap out of Spitzer Posted on September 30th, 2007 by Mike Lawson Senior Editorial Writer and Columnist for The Orange County Register Steve Greenhut beat the hell out of Republican Assemblyman Todd Spitzer in his column this morning. The article started with a quotation from a 19th Century judge: “No man’s life, liberty or property are safe while the Legislature is in session.” And the piece ended with this gem: Get it? If you don’t agree with Spitzer–who was relegated to the Assembly’s smallest office after the Democratic leadership tired of him labeling his opponents as “pro-criminal”–then you hate cops and want rapists and murderers out on the streets. You can see the speech that Greenhut is referencing in this column by clicking here. […]

Pretty sad Steve when you need to chase around the Internet for posts that cite you and then paste them to your own site so you can make people think that your posts are read, instead of dismissed as Greenhut ranting.
The Liberal OC. Don’t ya think they just love when you attack Reps irrespective of what your points? Good job.

OC Observer: I didn’t chase around the Internet. The system automatically posts these as comments when someone else links to our blogs. I’m not sure why. But I am glad when others link to us and I’m always glad to attack Republicans who promote big government.
