Another county leadership scandal grows

From Steven Greenhut:

The Register’s Ron Campbell put chapter and verse to the complex accusations against Treasurer Chriss Street and his handling of a bankrupt trust. As Campbell explains, “Street double-billed a bankrupt trust for thousands of dollars in expenses, including a $3,582 laptop computer and $1,200 in office supplies, according to newly released court records. The records show that he charged the trust tens of thousands more ofr luxury hotels … plus gourmet meals and a personal trainer.” Street is being sued by the trust for $7 million.

These problems are compounded by government investigations and scandals surrounding the way he remodeled his county offices.

Will we soon have two vacancies?

If what here is alleged is true, Street is going to be rooming with Randall “Duke” Cunningham in a federal pen. For a long, long time.
