Global warming quote of the day

Today’s global warming quote of the day comes from a guy who actually understands climate science, as opposed to, say, a guy who won an Oscar for a PowerPoint presentation:
“In conclusion, I am predicting today that the theory that mankind is mostly responsible for global warming will slowly fade away in the coming years, as will the warming itself, and I trust you would agree, Madam Chair, that such a result deserves to be greeted with relief.” - Dr. Roy Spencer, climatologist and scientist, formerly with NASA, now at University of Alabama at Huntsville, testifying before Senator Barbara Boxer’s committee on climate change research.

There you go—Kos did your homework for you. Spencer isn’t stupid; he knows he’ll get much, much richer as a climate-change “doubter” than he will if he acknowledges that the overwhelming majority of the scientific community is, in fact, correct.
Global warming deniers fascinate me. If a thousand reputable sources tell you that a bomb is about to go off, and one tells you it isn’t, does it really benefit you to believe the latter?

It seems to me that Dr. Roy Spencer has impeccable credentials. Unfortunately, when global warming begins to fade, it won’t be enough for the global warming alarmists. Hopefully the general public will begin to see that global warming has not been man induced, and the debate on carbon emissions will begin to fade as the U.S. begins to cope with its increasing energy needs.

Global warming is the perfect socialist-authoritarian issue. If it increases, Draconian controls and taxes are needed. If it declines, Draconian controls and taxes get the credit, so we must need to continue them. They can’t lose.
It’s sort of like the phenom itself: if it gets hotter, it’s global warming. If it gets cooler, it’s global warming.
Everything is global warming. Everything requires Draconian controls and taxes.

The “global warming” theory vs fact war has already been won - by the “factists”. They changed the name of the battle to “climate change” in the media, so that if warming continues, or slows, or stops, or cooling begins it all falls into the “climate change” category and they can continue ad naseum.
One thing for “Lizard”: If you are so concerned about the impact of the coming disaster, why are you living in the soon-to-be-ocean reach of the ever-growing Pacific? I suggest you move close to, oh, Nashville, where The Goralce lives. Must be safer there. Watch out for the zinc mine.

Yeah, laws are a pain in the arse, aren’t they? I mean, lung cancer rates rise, so we ban the use of asbestos in buildings. Then lung cancer rates drop and then our laws TOTALLY get the credit! Now we have to keep the ban in place. At what point to we get to start using asbestos again? What a scam!
….
How did you get this job, seriously?

Arcospark, are you sure you know where I live?
Also, do you get that some of us are not motivated purely by self-interest? ….No, you probably don’t. Never mind!

It’s mind-boggling how the global warming folks are so uneducated and naive. I feel bad for them that they can be sold so easily. Study the relationship between environment and socialism. If you do, you will have your answer. Ayn Rand talked about it 50 years ago and it’s still applicable.. Besides crazy man gore, who has clearly gone bitterly bonkers, look closely at the folks who are really saying they know the facts.
More than 31,072 American scientists, including 9,021 with Ph.Ds, have signed the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine’s Global Warming Petition, which says in part, “There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate.” http://www.oism.org

All of you are missing the fact that it is widely acknowledged that the planet has been cooling since 2001. The so called climate “scientists” are trying to say that there is still underlying global warming that will eventually be back. You can never win against a psuedo science that constantly adjusts itself to meet whatever it sees next.

Ah yes, Roy Spencer. The same person who said “We have now had at least six years without warming”, ignoring the fact that the 10 warmest years on record have occured since 1995 (NOAA). Roy Spencer, a regular on Rush Limbaugh, who also believes in intelligent design. .
