Boycott Kellogg’s — or complain

February 9th, 2009, 1:20 pm · 1 Comment · posted by by Alan Bock, Register editorial writer

Now that Kellogg’s has decided not to renew Olympic phenomenon and apparent pot smoker Michael Phelps’s endorsement contract (some say it’s an excuse to cut some expenses they wanted to cut in light of the economic downturn anyway), some people are urging a boycott of Kellogg’s products, or politely complaining. For better or worse I don’t buy Sugar Frosted Flakes anyway, so my participation is hardly likely to cut into their bottom line, and boycotts are notoriously difficult to organize anyway. But it will still feel good to boycott Kellogg’s.

How about you?

I couldn’t care what Phelps does. He’s not costing me a dime in taxes. Why not boycott NBC, Today Show, Dateline, MSNBC for giving a national stage to the baby machine who had 8 kids at Kaiser while collecting worker’s comp and disability when she already had 6 at home? Let’s do blog on that story!!! Why are you folks avoiding it like the plague? It’s one of the biggest stories, not only in the state but throughout the country. You’re always complaining about our high taxes. Why don’t you do a blog on the octuplets? Are your hands tied behind your backs?
